Uncle Lee asked me : How Life Is Treating Me!!!

Uncle Lee of “A Moonlight Rendezvous” respond to one of my comment on his story ask me the following question: How life is treating you??? In fact I have been asking the same question over and over again but come to no prevail( at least I do not have any single answer that is able to convince myself!!)

I do not know how life is treating me…I only know to continue with the life I am committed. This life may not be the one that I want to be but surely was the only one I committed and continue to live with! I am not pessimistic about my way of life but try to be realistic because there are a lot of decisions to choose in one’s life but only one that you have chosen and decided to live with it. I knew not all people will agree with me because our life is our own destiny, not others. Yes! I do agree however the fact is not always the true and it simply not within our control. Some decision in life you are not able to reverse or the price is too high to pay if you choose to reverse your decision.

Let go back to answer Uncle Lee question: How life is treating me?? Well! Uncle Lee, life is treating me the way it should be, not perfect but yet manageable. From the beginning, when I start my journey a board, I adopted a very simple life…..a life that put me out of temptation, a life that as simple as the local, as routine as the time of clock….!!! But this is the life I choose and I have make sure that I live with it well, enjoy it well and most important accepting the faith and committed to it.

Today is the mooncake festival - I have lost touched many many years ago!!!

Today Shanghai rain all day, although it was not heavy but it is enough to depress you. When I am sitting for my usual Starbucks session, I realize today is the mooncake festival.....I really don't recall when the last time I celebrate Mooncake festival, it must be few decade ago!!! That was the time When I stay with my parent, we used to perform worship to the moon and prepared a lot of goodies for our stomach, I recalled we lighted up a lot of candles and lantern but what remain now was just boxes of China tasteless moon cake no matter there are from 5 star hotel or famous cake house....only those moon cake from Malaysia or Hong Kong are really to my liking!!!

When I stay a board or even after I left my home town in Sungai Siput to pursue my study and career, Mooncake festival remain something to remember......if not because it is a holiday in China, I certainly do not notice today is the day. Am I value Mooncake festival ? the answer definitely "YES" I will said a big "YES" but .........it remain a "YES" and nothing have changed. I always fall into deep thought try to find in my memory for the past especially during this kind of festival. I lost my track and worse still I don't even know how I lost it!! How pathetic am I !

I called home just now and asked my mum have they celebrated Mooncake festival and to my suprise they also did not prepare anything for the celebration and it seem that today have been forgotten and it was just like any other normal day! I promise myself one day I will celebrate the moon cake festival in a traditional way again...yes one day!!

What a day!!!!

Life sometime come with a lot of surprise, sometime when you think you are ready but most of the time you are caught in surprise! During the recent Merdeka Lunch gathering in Shanghai, I pump into my old college mate whose I have not contact for over 18 years! but funny though, we used to live in a city for almost 5 years and we never come across each another and have to wait until 18 years after to meet in a foreign soil!!! That I call surprise!!!!

Then suddenly I find myself reconnect back to my old college mate that some of them have not met for decade, we start to exchange e-mail and chat about old time!!! I am kind of person whose like to attach to memory but I fail every time to recall what I have lost.........!!!! May be the reality of life force me to admit that I should forgot the pass and focus on the future. However when you reach certain age, you tend to slow down the steam for the future and start to appreciate the pass, I am not saying that we should not continuous to improve but you just like to search the pass in your memory.

Any how, life need to go on and there are so many commitments in life you need to fulfill before you can really decide what you want to do without need to take consideration of others. Hopefully I will have more surprises to come!!!
